Along my journey I also was an elementary school teacher in the New York City Department Of Education for over 20 years, or you can say I was acting like a teacher. I was the guy walking around helping kids smile with a stuffed chicken named Herby. I was trying to challenge the system to let students think for themselves, but I found that it is not an easy road to travel. After a lot of soul searching I realized I had a lot to say that other educators might relate to and apparently so did my two best friends, veteran educators Rob Monahan and Jeannine Brugge. We launched Playing Teacher, now a trending popular podcast which pulls back the curtain of the myths, realities, and moments that make education unforgettable (for better or worse)
